Children are especially vulnerable to sun damage
Their skin is more sensitive and burns more easily. They may not understand the importance of sunscreen and other protective measures, so it’s important for parents to be vigilant about protecting them from UV exposure. Make sure to apply and reapply sunscreen, dress your child in protective clothing, and seek shade whenever possible.
Seek shade when outdoors
Whenever possible, find shade when outdoors to minimize exposure to UV rays. Sun protection should also be taken when in the water, under a beach umbrella, or near buildings as reflected UV rays can still cause sun damage. Cover up with clothing, hats, and sunglasses when you are out in the sun. Be sure to reapply sunscreen regularly and frequently when outside, even on cloudy days.
