6. Apple Tree
The apple tree is a deciduous woody perennial that originated in Central Asia but today is cultivated in temperate regions worldwide for its sweet fruit. It is the most widely grown species of tree and was brought to North America by European settlers.
There are over 7,500 known cultivars of apples with varying tastes and colors ranging from white to pink or red that change their color as they ripen on the tree. There are around 3,529 known cultivars of apples in the United States.
7. Banyan Tree
The banyan tree is a large, evergreen tree that is mainly found in the tropics and subtropics of Asia. It has a vining structure with aerial roots that descend from the canopy of the tree to the earth and cling to any surface available.
The leaves are arranged in sets of threes, sevens, or nines on each lateral branch and can reach a width of up to 30 ft (9 m).
